Your Holiday in France
We have all heard the story about the home rented in France with the railway track running past the front window, or the house with the sewage system which emptied itself onto the front lawn by the terrace!
When we all travel overseas we end up spending significant amounts of money on our travel, on the basis that we are going to enjoy ourselves!! Living next to a TGV train track isn’t my idea of bliss - but the catalogue didn’t mention the track!! Over the last four years I have been putting together a range of good quality houses that I would be happy to stay in with my friends or with my young family!
I now have about one hundred houses and apartments throughout France which I have personally visited, and am very comfortable recommending to you. Due to demand, the majority of my houses tend to be in Paris, Provence and the Dordogne Valley (Périgord Noir), although I have houses in most regions.
In finding suitable houses I have tried to concentrate on charming houses which are either in or on the edge of small villages, because I feel that being by a village allows you to experience the “pulse” of daily life. Personally I love to be able to walk down to the “boulangerie” to buy my morning croissants!!
The main consideration in having a holiday in a rental home is that generally you rent a home for one week. In most instances this rental period runs from Saturday to Saturday. The price you pay will normally include electricity, linen, and have a well equipped kitchen for preparing your culinary delights! For my Paris apartments you can start your rental on any day, and can rent for less than a week period.
Prices for rental homes can very considerably, but generally it is a very economical way of holidaying, especially for families or couples travelling together. To give you an example of the differences I have one charming little house in Provence for NZ$ 590 per week (sleeps 4) right through to a house for NZ$ 15,000 per week (sleeps 14) - both lovely places in their own way, just different!!!
