Taking a Walking Holiday in France is a perfect way to slow down, and help you really get to know a particular corner of France. Walking offers a lovely way to discover and share the sights and smells around us. You will have time to see, listen, smell, touch and taste regional specialities.

We are offering you a choice of five different regional walking tours in France:

Burgundy Wine Trail
Dordogne - Perigord Noir
Provence - Luberon Valley
Provence - Arles and the Alpilles
Alsace Wine Trail
Champagne

These 7 day tours are conducted by you without a guide, without a group - just with you and your friends, if they want to join you! You just need to choose the walk you wish to do, the day you want to start your walk, the type of room/s you prefer, and we organise the rest! You are provided before your arrival in France with a detailed “Route Book” which leads you along your walking trails. This Route Book, as well as detailing specific walking instructions, offers commentaries on the background of each region and sights you pass along the way.

Generally speaking you will cover between 15 and 25 kilometres per day, and your luggage will be transferred for you to your next hotel by pre-arranged transfers. On certain walks you will be transferred in pre-arranged taxis from your hotels to the beginning of particular walks (to avoid any less interesting areas!). You will have a local phone contact to assist you in an emergency, or even simply if you become lost!!

These tours are especially prepared using good standard accommodation (three star accommodation is normal wherever possible) and include generous gastronomic menus (using menus of between 25 and 40 Euros pp) at some hotels (drinks not included). Wherever possible we include accommodation in villages. These tours are generally one week long, but you have the option to shorten this if you like, and just do a particular segment of the route.

If you specifically require a guide during your walking tour, then this can be arranged for you, yet we would need to quote you separately for this.

Route Book

Your essential guide to make a success of this hike. It is composed of :

• One or several IGN maps (Institut geographique national) on the 1/25000 scale or copies of parts of these maps.
• A detailed description of the excursion. We suggest the route for you to follow. We also point out the sites you must see.
• Some practical information that will make matters easier for you.
• The address, phone number, fax of the hotels you will stay in. Phone number of the taxi that will take you or carry your luggage.

You will receive this road book by post after reception of the full payment 8 weeks before your departure.
